Our Vision
The Lord Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost. He gave the Church the Great Commission before His ascension to heaven. The Great Commission must not be lived separately from the Great Commandment to love God and people. What this means for EBC is that we involve ourselves in the process of maturing, ministering, and multiplying in Christ.
Our Mission
Community means EBC is to function as a spiritual family based on its
common identity, destiny and shared values in Christ. It recognizes
each individual's uniqueness, and the diverse gifts given by God to the
Body and using these gifts to work together toward God's vision for us.
A disciple of Christ in EBC is a believer who is in the process of becoming more and more like Him by:
- Submitting to His Lordship
- Pursuing a growing relationship of love with Him and others in the Body
- Seeking to live out His values and disciplines as learned from the Word
- Displaying His character by manifesting the fruit of the Spirit
- Answering His call to use spiritual giftedness to serve
- Cultivating relationships with the lost in order to reach them for Him
To mature means to grow in Christ-likeness. Specifically, it means to grow in the knowledge of God's Word and will, to gain godly insights and perspectives, to develop strong biblical convictions, to cultivate relevant skill-sets for effective ministry, and to build godly character.
To minister means to serve fellow believers and to meet each other's needs according to our talents, gifts and personality. We are to be accountable to God and one another to live godly lives, to love, to encourage, to mentor, and to bless.
To multiply means to reach out to the lost, be it local or overseas. It means we are to share the Gospel with the lost, to equip for follow up, and to nurture believers toward spiritual maturity in Christ.
